TCS Academy: Lighting for VFX

I was recruited earlier this summer for the Technicolor Creative Studios Academy, a 10 week course in Lighting for VFX. Over this time period I learnt how to use Katana, Renderman and improve my skills in Nuke, with a key focus on lighting assets to an industry standard, that would fit within a cinematic backplate. We had shots due weekly, with dailies supported by Shotgrid, which introduced to have us used to the idea of specific critique. This experience was incredibly important to propelling my skills from a graduate level, to one of industry standard. Weekly, a guest from MPC would come to join in with the daily and give a different perspective to our work, which was insightful of how an industry professional would view the work.
